x:botteri - love keeper of my soul
2002

"raining
gold" was my first solo-album, and an extremely hard record to
do. it didn't turn out the way i planned and i'm generally displeased
with it. the upcoming album, "love keeper of my soul", is
much more to my liking. the album is conceptually based, with three
ladies serving as the main element of the story. as much as it's a concept-album,
it also serves as some kind of a vision for me...
...a vision of three ladies, one of which i fell in love with. love
- the essence of the new album. back then, i listened a lot to nick
cave's opus, "the boatman's call", and some dylan. i really
wanted to make a love-album like these above mentioned musical heroes,
but viewed it as being impossible and out of reach concidering all of
my earlier work had been based in the opposite and within the metal
formula. i never gave up the idea though, and even if the album took
three years in making, it proved me wrong.
this record is probably the one i'm most pleased with through my years
as an artist. and also it's the most personal offering from me.
well, "omnio" is, musically, still the best album i've ever
made but thinking about lyrics, this is the best - back in the days
of in the woods..., sergeant transit wrote all the words while i made
the music. on this album, however, i've done everything myself, so i
got it exactly the way i want it. the outcome can strike both ways;
some may hate it, while others might fall in love with it. regardless
of any reviews, be it positive or negative, i am very satisfied with
the result. and this is what's important to me.
"love keeper of my soul" consist of fifteen songs. fifteen
short songs. pretty unusual for me concidering my prior work which often
turned out lengthy. this time i plan to promote the album differently.
radio stations as one aspect, though i'm not looking very hard for a
"deal". i will release the album myself. should any record
company show alot of interest, well maybe... but the album is far from
commercial and it was never intended to be. it's plain honesty - as
i wanted it to be. if you don't like it, it's not the end of the world
to me. this is what i wanted to do and i've done it....
