things are definitely on the move at karmakosmetix headquarters these days. currently there are six releases under construction. so, what’s cookin’ in the kkx kitchen? read on:
norwegian rockn’ rollers, soXpan, have finally added the last details to their awaited debut “kickin’ you alive”, and according to our licensees at prophecy, the album should be out mid november some time. there’s been some talk about a special edition including a dvd with lotsa extra material, but more on that later. you should also have a go at soXpan’s brand new web - site www.soxpan.com for some album - outtakes and other goodies.
previously, we announced a re - release of a ten year old nærvær recording (including three new tracks recorded in the summer of 2002). the disc simply called nærvær was supposed to be out this autumn, but due to german efficiency and lots of stuff going on at prophecy’s, it will now be available february next year. for those of you into the “skiftninger” album, you can expect more groovy highlights from this psychedelic twosome..
further, we’re desperately awaiting the master of stille opprör’s second coming. according to what we’ve heard of the album so far, it’ll blow away the best parts from christer’s debut prosjekt 213. last time we had the man on the phone, there were news that the recordings are rapidly approaching the mix. those of you who have heard the opener on karmakosmetix promosampler (also available via download - section) will know what to expect when stille opprör is on the move!
goldlog is another project linked to the kkx wateringsystem. previously known as this boys band, they were to be heard for the first time on last years promosampler (check out the download - section). latest news from the ian and ingjerd - camp is that the second part of their debut - album is now under completion. third and last part will be recorded during winter, and we hope to announce a release none later than early spring next year.
spending most of his time working on other projects, mister transit have finally kicked off recordings for his ego trippin’ debut - album. last seen sneaking around the morning train to oslo, he returned a couple of weeks ago with a steady grin upon his face… christer from stille opprör/ animal alpha is in charge of the production, and plan is to record the entire album within a duration of one year. according to transit himself, this is the only way to capture six years of songwriting properly.
besides this, we’re compiling yet another promosampler with planned release march/ april next year. this time we’ll include new stuff from kkx artists besides quite a few other artists connected one way or the other. most of these songs will be available via downloads way before the disc hits the streets, so check in frequently for new mp3’s!
we round up with some news from black bone chapel:
“last night people were seen running from the main street, and
according to spectators, they fled when a sudden blast of sounds made
the ground tremble and the children weep. rumours spread rapidly that
yeah yeah and yanks, the towns local musicians, were rehearsing in the
basement of the local men’s wear store, though a visiting mariachi
demented the rumours hours later at the bar. -“it is impossible
to present such earthquakes under given circumstances. a couple of old
amp’s and some weary batteries have no chance in hell!”.
an anonymous girl at the bar commented: -“when a sad ‘ol
mariachi like yerself cannot cope with such dynamite, it must be because
of fear and envy. i know by personal experience that these handsome
strangers rock. just admit it, yer done!”
the mariachi was last seen on his way out of town. the night was silent,
but the ground was still shaking…

karmakosmetix are proud to present the debut - album of norwegian rockn'
rollers soXpan! as we speak, it seems the album will be out via german
prophecy productions late july/ early august. it's titled "kickin'
you
alive" - say no more!
the band is currently working on a dvd which, in the first place, will
be
used exclusively for promotional purposes. it will later be unleashed
on our
brand new website at www.soxpan.com. go check it out then!
soXpan will perform live at the quart festival, kristiansand norway,
on the
10th of july at stage odden.

so... an update!
soXpan has served a new song for grabs, in the samples section - which have had a small clean-up;
all in the woods... downloads have now been moved away from the karmakosmetix sphere, and into the itw... minisite - a flash splash that will open by clicking on the tree-icon on the lower right.
as for the long gone orchestra, four tracks from the concert - that wasn't on the livealbum have been posted for downloading.
and, as the pleasers we are; a small movie clip from the not-to-be-released dvd is also available.

happy days!
on august the 25th, the official birth of karmakosmetix took place. kkx 001and 002, namely in the woods... liveatthecaledonienhall and karmakosmetix promosampler, was released via german prophecy productions. as a labelmanager, it was great to see that a couple of years work finally came into realization!
so far, both releases have been well reviewed among press and people in general, and we're really happy with the positive feedback. we're currently working on some kind of a database for updates on reviews and such, and this will be available in a short while for those of you who's interested.
many people have appreciated the promosampler. the first 3000 copies of the live - album comes with a free copy, but if you're not able to get your hands on one of those, you can still download the whole lot for free via the samples - section. there are also a couple of songs from the caledonien - gig that didn't make it to the final cd - version. they will also be available for download as soon as ye undertaker can figure out where the hell the cd's at, heh heh...

:o)
i'd say late june/ early july is a fine schedule for a release, and
then
we'll have a romantic summer-release - just like we had with the wicked
"omnio" lp. haideehoo!

christopher sun's "dreamer"-album is on the move again after
a couple of
months on ice. a release-date has not been set yet, but it should be
possible to purchase the album early may sometime. expect some new cutting
edge from the botteri-bruthas.. updates will follow.
concerning kkx001 & kkx002 - being the woods live-album and the promosampler - we can reveal that all masters etc. have arrived safely at the prophecy headquarters. they are now working on a few details before the albums are sent off to the pressing-plant. promo's should be available early may, so if you got any questions on details; get in touch with prophecy via [email protected]

late december, 2002, we signed a worldwide distribution-licence with german prophecy productions, which means that our future releases will be available on a grander scale (a full list of disrtributors and in which countries etc, will be available soon). at the present (early feb.’03), we’re working on the last bits of cover arts etc, for our two first releases, being a double live-cd from in the woods… (catalogue 001) and a sample-cd with different artist spinning off from the now defunct in the woods… (002).
however, the first 3000 copies of the double live-cd will also include the sampler (meaning that you can purchase about three and a half hours of music for the price of a double cd! according to the time-schedules prophecy prod. have presented for us, we hope to release our first, official album(s) early april 2003.
while editing the woods…-live album, we ended up with six or seven songs that never made it to the final version. these songs will be available here in mp3-format within a month, or so, and can be downloaded for free. if this proves to be working well, we will update the mp3-section continuously with new material coming from these shores.
besides the two already mentioned releases, there are recordings in progress. christer, the former guitarist of in the woods…, is currently working on his second album with his “new” project, stille opprør, and we’ll do our best to keep you informed on his progressions. soxpan is another project with members from the woods…-camp and they are also cookin’ something in their kitchen nowadays (being stein’s brown sound recording-studio). anyway, these are projects that we’ll get back to as soon as the actors are working on their make-up…
